Police to Open Baghramyan: Traffic to Flow

Armenia’s Police state that they will open Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue after electricity rate hike protesters succeeded in closing the main artery for two weeks.

The Police, in a statement issued today, say their previous calls to protesters to remove the barricade of trash bins on their own have fallen on deaf ears. The statement says they are making a final call to the protesters to remove the barricade voluntarily.

The Police say removing the barricade in no way is intended to put an end to the protest and that demonstrators will be allowed to continue their protest if they relocate to a non-traffic portion along Baghramyan.
